Possible spoilers

This may be a possible spoiler for the latest vol of Ciel vol 16 (vol 17 is out now, but I'm not sure I can bear it). After being on hiatus for so long, I hope I am actually returning to regular posting!

Ciel has been lacking in Lariette x Yvionne lately (poor Lari, she is too loyal to Yvionne).

I will start some drawings again and continue to post.

It is certainly nice to post a blog after quite a long hiatus =)

Vol 12

As you know, I've stopped the translations for various reasons but I've kept up with the series so I thought I would update with a vain summary from the latest vol.

There isnt much development between the triangle that has been developing between Yvienne, Laraiette and Krohiten so far. In this story, the group has just defeated an apocalyptic monster in form of a bunny. But much with much sacrifice which results in Yvienne using up all her energy and puts her in a mind coma. Only Krohiten can bring her back do to his dragon haxor powers and Laraiette, viligently follows. They eventually find her in her deepest area of her mind and free her.

Some interesting things to note: It seems the character shown before called Insanity, has been using Yvienne's appearance. Her true appearance is a small snake with two heads. Laraiette doesnt seem to like her at all even in Yvienne appearance. (It would have been good to have a 2nd Yvienne for her in case the real one goes for Krohiten :p..) There is another yuri pair, Ecliche and Eutice. They are on the cover of vol 11 and up there on the image.

Ciel vol 5, 2/2

Here is the last half of vol 5. It is not completely finished because I felt that it was not really interesting at the last few pages so forgive me for that...

Ciel and the relationship between the main character and Laraiette will be very blurry and frustrating past vol 7 and onward to vol 9. For that reason and the possibility that it is serialized in USA, the translation project will end with vol 5.

Review and Vol 7 sample

Vol 9 came today and so now I can make a good overall review.
All in all, the story is interesting although I do not agree with some of the subjects it touched. Namely about rape and emo-ness. January is too damn emo.

L-chan is the main reason Koyot3 likes Ciel. Too bad Y-chan makes it so hard for L-chan. Y-chan suddenly develops feelings for *not January* in vol 8 uncharacteristiclly. For L and Y, their relationship is.. difficult to conclude if it will form. Orz

Ciel trans project to end

Upon reading the vol 7, and vol 8, I was not happy with the new changes in vol 8. All I can say is, poor Lariatte. Tomoyo from CCS comes to mind. And the worst part is, the resolution is all cleared up all nicely and happily even at the expence suddenly erasing all the character emotions. Vol 9 is going to be ordered next week.. but only because the author did a cliff hanger. I dont think it will change my decision.

I apologize for the people that followed the releases. The last half of vol 5 is done but will not be edited and released. Thank you Kiwi, typesetter/editor for the work!

Upon feeling like browsing for Ciel info on the web, I found a good amount of solid info. In Baka-Updates, it is confirmed that Tokyo-Pop picked up Ciel as it states "English publisher: Tokyo-Pop". That pretty much confirms it 100% from what Korean-Manhwa stated that it Might be in the works and that they are pending scanlation. So far, it is up to vol 8 and ongoing :o. I feel great about this as it will give Ciel more readers. I'll be very happy if Tokyo-Pop maintains the original context of the manga intact... which shouldn't be too hard to do. When will their release be? I dont know but it will be very long. So far, I have done myself 1/3 of vol 4. And on track to finishing all of vol 5. I picked up slack and am working fairly fast at making the scripts for vol 5. But upon finding out that the publisher is now confirmed to be releasing this, I think that just blindly releasing translated scans will not be good. So with that said, Vol 5 is going to be completed and the rest is uncertain.

Yvienne is thinking to herself that she's great because she is good at bargaining.So for shopping errands, she always has money left over because she buys them cheaper and that she can spend on the left over (lol). Yvienne thinks it would be good if Lari could come. *Lari says to Yvienne that as her partner, she will work harder to gain magic so that Yvienne would not be embarrassed. She is in extra studies.Yvienne wants to save more money so that she can buy decorations for her and Lariette's room.

Yvienne see's the two strangers and offers to help them. Then she asks them for a reward for helping them.

They both shout "rainbow dressup" and Yvienne is more amazed at the outlandish clothing than that they used magic.
Yvienne tries to leave but is forced to be their tour guide. Then she mentions she knows professor Crowhiton. That they had a past.

They introduce themselves as Marion Everiet, and husband Sca Everiet.Then they go shopping.

They have dinner and Marion tells a tale of a princess who fell in love with an Arc Dragon.

Yvienne goes to get a horse carrier and Marion Everiet talks to Crowhiton that it is hard to see him. She mentions that she forgot how many children she bore. Then she mentions that she has "forgotten" and the love with her husband Sca Everiet has gone cold. She says that she forgets humans but it is different for an Arc Dragon such as him.

Marion says to Crowhiton however that she the difference between them is that she is an incredibily old human and he is a very young Arc Dragon.

The rain stops. Yvienne calls Marion Unee* which is used by a girl to address an older girl in a polite way.

He takes her face and thinks that only the eyes match and nothing else. And says it's nothing to Yvienne who feels it was a concerning thing.

Marion says that she isnt just here to play. She mentions that she had 300 years to prepare for her **trials*, but Yvienne doesn't have time.

January follows Tota to someplace where students shouldn't be. He thinks that this will get him
expelled. Tota mentions that he is on an errand from Crowhiten.

P.46- P.49
He asks the ladies for someone named kitty. Then he goes alone to see her alone and wants to know what
happened to her sister. He is looking for these people named Ghost Knights.

P.50-P.51
Octovia yells at Yvienne because she did not bring anything from her errand. Crowhiten asks Octovia if she doesn't like Yvienne because of jealousy. Octovia is in tears and calls Crowhiten a "dumb poophead" (lol).

P.51 - P.53
January takes some poison and says he doesn't have anything to live for. Octovia is talking to Jubilate Jade about the thing Crowhiten said to her.Jubilate mentions on a call that Saski is dead, and that Lady Lightspear is missing. It seems that Saski was the familiar to the queen and now that Lady Lightspear is has lost her familiar, she is a loose cannon.

P.56 - P.60
A "Lilian" equivalent ceremony for Ms Blue bell. Yvienne and Lariette meets Tota. He congrats Lariette on her advance to magic. Tota thinks that everyone must be out having fun at the celebration and decides to visit his roommate. January is locked in by someone and feels he doesnt want to get out. It seems to be a basement of sort and he decides to clean it.

P.60 - P.63
Various men ask them out. Yvienne thinks that because of Lariette, there are many more of men's attention. Lariette is slightly winded by this. Then a reporter guy shows up and greets Yvienne.
Lariette is hiding behind Yvienne. He warns them that a ghost knight is loose. The guy suggests to Lady Lightspear about going to see her nephew January.

P.64 - 68
Tota see's January's jacket and thinks that he didnt go outside. January doesn't yell out because he doesn't want to be a bother to someone. Eventually tota finds him. He says to January that he is troublesome. January feels that he must stand up for himself and do everything by himself or he will die. Then Tota says that he should have found him sooner.

P.69 - 74
Lariette has declared tota to a duel because she has asked for the female students to be able to use the training room but was turned down. It seems that as Lariette is from a family of fencers, she has asked the sword club captain permission for all female students to be able to use the room. But he would allow that only if she can hold a fight with Tota. Although Tota won, he allowed the use of the facilty to the female students. Lariette thinks that Tota is strange.

P.75 - Last
Crowhiten is volunteered to go down the school's basement to retrieve food ingredients as well as Yvienne.
